Dear Sisters of Sacred Heart #141,

“Back to School Daze” is the theme for our September 15^th meeting.  Don’t forget to bring school supplies for CCD.  I know anything & everything will be appreciated.  The committee for the evening is Lupe Padilla, chairman, Gloria Hyatt, Nancy Wells, Gloria George, Helen Doane, Maria Gonsalvez and Vera Reed.

In conjunction with “National Preparedness Month”, Captain Steve Bird from the Dixon Police Department will be talking about the resources available in Dixon in the event of a disaster.   His presentation will begin at 6:45 so come early & be informed!

Our potluck for the Knights last month was wonderful.  Leslie Null & Karen Hamera did a great job organizing and decorating and the food was outstanding, as usual.  The Knights were very appreciative.

Mark your calendars for the Red Cross Preparedness class this month and encourage your family, friends & neighbors to attend.  There’s a wealth of valuable information given and it’s FREE!

Enclosed are tickets for the annual soup luncheon on October 21^st.  Start thinking about your favorite recipe as we will be passing around a sign-up sheet at the meeting.  We have developed quite a reputation for this annual even and the community really looks forward to it.  Our centerpieces are going to be decorated pumpkins.  Get your creative juices flowing and maybe we’ll consider having a competition!

The recent devastation caused by hurricane Katrina in the Gulf Coast States has left so many people homeless & without hope.  Let us pray for them that they may find hope & that those more fortunate find it in their hearts to help in any way they can.
