--- January 2005 Newsletter---
Dear
Sisters:
HAPPY NEW YEAR 2005!!
Cold, damp winter weather make our “Souper Supper” on Thursday January
20th sound most appealing. Plan to bring a pot of soup and a spouse or
friend to share the fun and warm their tummies. We will begin the
festivities at 6 PM. The committee for the evening is Mary Young
chairman, Kay Green, Vicki Azevedo, Bea Fairfield, Cary Howitson,
Phyllis Nixon, and Maria Santos.
We are really excited about our upcoming enchilada sale scheduled on
February 5th. The committee has had several meetings and is gearing up
for a great fundraising opportunity. We have enclosed some order forms
so you can start taking orders. To maximize our profits, we will only be
doing advance sales. All orders must be paid for at the time the order
is placed and will then be available for pick up on the 5th. Remember
the proceeds from this event will benefit the Grand President’s Program
so talk it up to your friends, family, neighbors and coworkers. We will
actually be assembling the enchiladas on February 5th and will be asking
for volunteers to help with the process. As always, I know we can depend
on our membership to make this fundraiser a success.
Coffee hour, January 23rd
8:30 AM Virginia Fletcher and Ruth Rita Nelson
11:00 AM Elaine Lawrence and Alice Reis
Upcoming Events:
January 26th NCCW Luncheon and speaker - St. Mary’s in Vacaville
February 2nd District Deputy visit - Rio Vista
February 5th Enchilada Sale
February 9th Ash Wednesday Day of Recollection
As the Season of Lent approaches, may we all remember this is not just a
time of sacrifice but a time to give of ourselves to others in the
service of the Lord.
With sisterly love,
Janet
