--- February 2005 Newsletter--- Dear Sisters:
The theme for our meeting on February 17th at 7:30 pm is honoring our Presidents. The committee for the evening is Barbara Lieb Chairman, Dorothy Casarez, Margaret Garcia, Anne Reis, Laura Villegas, Bernice Lugo and Vera Reed.
I can’t believe its February already! Lent has begun and our annual “Third Sunday of Lent” breakfast is right around the corner. It will be at Maria’s restaurant again, after 8:30 Mass on February 27th. The price for members is $6.00 and guests are $12.00. We will be doing advance reservations and pre-payment to get an accurate count to give to the restaurant. You will find a reservation form attached. Please mail the form along with your payment to Geri Guidici at 1530 McCormack Ct., Dixon or bring it to our next meeting. The menu will be juevos rancheros, ham, potatoes, Danish, rolls, orange juice and coffee. The food is always great and it’s a wonderful opportunity for fellowship.
We completed our enchilada sale earlier this month and I think it was a tremendous success. A special thank you to everyone who worked so hard on the sale. I have gotten nothing but positive feedback from everyone who purchased enchiladas. Great job!!
Coffee hour, February 27th Has been cancelled due to the third Sunday of Lent breakfast.
Upcoming Events: February 27th Third Sunday of Lent Breakfast March 17th District Deputy Visit – Dixon #141 April 9th Reno Bus Trip
During the Lenten Season remember to build into your life the three traditional practices of praying, fasting and almsgiving. “We need to do some thinking and praying before we chart a course through Lent. God is our guide and it is to God that we must go before we do anything.”
With sisterly love, Janet
