Annus Sacerdotalis - A Year for Priests - On the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the World Day of Prayer for the Sanctification of the Clergy, His Holiness Benedict XVI inaugurated the Jubilee Year for Priests, June 19, 2009 – June 19, 2010. This year also coincides with the 150th Anniversary of the birth of Saint John Marie Vianney, Patron Saint of Parish Priests.

For more information, the Holy See has set up a website: http://www.annussacerdotalis.org.

The USCCB has also provided a website of resources to celebrate this jubilee year for priests: http://www.usccb.org/yearforpriests

This will be a great opportunity to pray for the priests and, at the same time, to promote vocations to the priesthood. It is an occasion to thank priests, living and deceased, who so generously dedicated their lives to the ministry
