During the Liturgy of the Eucharist, extraordinary ministers can assist the priest and deacon with the smooth execution of the distribution of Holy Communion. On September 30, Father Carlos started a series of workshops for extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion here at Saint Peter’s. The purposes for these workshops are (1) to invite old and new candidates for training in this profound service, and (2) to provide spiritual formation so they can “strive to be worthy of this great office, foster their own devotion to the Eucharist, and show an example to the rest of the faithful by their own devotion and reverence toward the most august sacrament of the alter”.
